Bone collection day.

Woke up ultra early at 6am. Its bone collection day and we reached Mandai crematorium at slightly over the appointed 9am coz daddyhan missed the exit.
My huge gang of relatives were already there waiting for us, and I felt really embarrassed to be late. Luckily, missyhan greeted the crowd with a wave when we exited the car, and they laughed at her cute antics. Phew! Took all my embarrassment away.
We were ushered into a small room with a round table in the middle where the urn was placed and the plastic container(huge lock-lock lookalike) of bones and ashes sat by its side. We had to put coins into the urn and daddyhan gave ning some coins to dropped in as well. With the bones placed in after the coins and the urn closed, we went off to move my dad into his new home.
After all was done, we went for breakfast together and daddyhan decided we shld go to Vivocity to walkwalk after we parted ways with the rest. So off we went.




Why so happy girl?

Didnt do much there but walk around. Guess daddyhan wanted to perked me up with some retail therapy, but nothing caught my fancy. Lucky for him.

Last day

Ning running and playing at the wake, not knowing the grandpa she had never met will be cremated in the afternoon.
The only time she got to see him was him lying in his coffin where she knocked on the glass window, as if in an attempt to wake him up.
She was oblivious to everything that happened around her even when everyone was sobbing uncontrollably. She was even chuckling loudly during the last service at Mandai Crematorium's Hall 3. She munched on her cookie loudly and kept pointing to nothing. There were times where she cried and daddyhan had to moved her out for she was rather disturbing. Gina said she was playing with ah gong. Maybe.

Will have to wake up really early tmr to pick my dad's ashes and settle him in his new home.

Christmas

Received news on the 23rd that my dad passed away. I was never close to him, but I always remembered him as the stern father who is a great cook as well. I still can remember fondly, how yummy his battered pork chop taste like, and I still remember the smile he had on his face when he open his door when he sees me. I was told by my nephew that ah gong is very gender biased, which I agree, coz I know the smile on his face when he sees me is becoz he had not seen me for a long time, as I only go back to stay with him during the june/dec sch holidays. I always felt he love my bro more than me. Infact, there isnt any photos of him carrying me when I was a baby, but my bro has his.



Nevertheless, the news of his demise got to me and I cried. I do not know if I cried becoz I love him or becoz he is dead. I guess its kinda a mixture of both.
Somehow, with his death, a chapter of my life got its closure and Im happy that it did. It also brought me closer to my 6 other siblings and I hope our relationships will improve over time, for its too soon to tell.



Daddyhan gave ning an empty drink packet and she was trying to work the straw.


We can see she is pretty pleased here.




Managed to sip up some of the leftovers and enjoying it!

Crocs!

What have I done?
I was just browsing at Croc website and somehow, things ended up in the shopping cart.
In a few weeks time, Daddyhan will be the proud owner of a pair of new Crocs, me, 3 pairs....and nn, 6 PAIRS!!!
Talk abt starting young! Ha!

Baby Jumper Gym trial!

Attended a trial at Baby Jumper Gym in the morning, which was organised by Jessie(thanks!).
It was really reeeeeally crappy and Jessie felt so bad for organising it. Dun be silly la girl, thanks to you for organising it, else we wun know its crappy! Hahaha. =D
Seems like LNT and Gymboree is still the best I have attended so far.


Totally relaxing herself in daddy's car. Still cant wean her off that thumb. =(



Daddyhan brought us to Stamford carnival coz he needs to change his wheels. We had a good time during the 2 hrs+ there while his wheels was being changed. Free ice cream, popcorns and cotton candy! Heres sweetie pie tasting her 1st cotton candy(its actually mine la! I love cotton candies!).
I even had an express manicure done for $5!

Elmo Show at Marina Sq

Caught the show on 2nd Dec afternoon and there were so many ppl! Cannot imagine how the crowd would be like in the evenings!


Ning feeling a little apprehensive with the crowd and was extra clingy to us.

Beef stew pasta lunch

Lunch for missyhan today is the beef stew soup I made a few days back coupled with pasta. I like to freeze soups in batches, so I can use them anytime I need w/o going thru the hassle of cooking from scratch. Saves me loads of time as well.
All I need to do is take out a cup of frozen stock, defrost and use it as a base for porridge or noodles, and in this case, pasta!
Just put the frozen stock with the pasta in a bowl and steam it! Instant delicious homecook meal in an instant!

Dinner at Fish n Co

Feeling extremely garang today, I decided not to prepare any dinner for ning. She can eat out with us, and eat off the table too. Its time to try her on real solid food isnt it?
Headed off to Fish n Co since daddyhan is feeling seafoody tonight. Ordered New York Fish and chips for myself and when the food came, I attemped to feed her some of the fish and rice off my plate, while daddyhan spooned clam chowder into her mouth as well.
Big mistake la. She refused to eat the rice and the fish and dun seems to like the chowder very much. I had to go over to the foodcourt to get her some porridge, which was too watery for her liking and she refused to take much of it either.
So guess what saved the day?
Yep! CHIPS!
So there, little missyhan held fat little sticks of french fries for the 1st time in her life and enjoyed it so much, she ate quite a bit.
I hope I did not start anything. =\

More waffles!

My diet made me conked out and I have been bingeing on tons of sweets lately!
Craving for another waffle, we headed to CCK's New York New York! this time as their waffles are much crisper.

A tiring day

Ning looking grouchy while waiting for daddy to pick us up.

Went off to the new Jurong Point coz daddyhan have not been there. Decided to lunch at Dian Xiao Er, which is currently our favourite restuarant.

It was extremely crowded that day and we popped into New York New York! for a waffle, to get away from the crowd.

Waited for more than 20mins before our waffle came. She likes waffles too =)


Hmmm.. savouring every bit of that soft buttery goodness.

Stepping on the diapers. Shes got this bad habit where she MUST step on things on the floor that catches her fancy. Be it paper to bugs. If she decides that she must step on it, she will.

Beef Stew

Decided to whip up some lovely homemade beef stew for the bub, but ended up adding in more water after much considerations to make it into a soup instead. Dun think she'll enjoy thick stew as much as soup for now.

Ingredients

Beef cubes
Celery, chopped into cubes
Tomatoes, chopped into wedges/cubes
Onions, diced
Garlic, minced
1 Bay leaf
Dash of Oregano powder
Dash of coarse black pepper
Olive Oil

Heat olive oil in pot and add in minced garlic.
When garlic turns light brown, add in diced onions.
Add in beef.
Add in celery and tomatoes after onions are browned.
Keep frying throughout the steps above and add in water after 5mins.
Throw in the bay leaf, black pepper and oregano powder.
Cover pot and stew.

Star Cruise trip!

Hiya all!!
Its been a long long time since I blog!! Taking a hiatus from blogging abt her is not much of a choice.. :(
Due to the increasing energy the little one's been spurning out, its really hard to keep up with her. Most of the time, Im spent at the end of the day, yet I still have to use whatever remaining energies I have to go online to keep tab on my work.
