Condition didnt improve even after visiting KK A&E last night. Went back KK in the morning. Here, shes curling up in pain in daddyhan's arm, while waiting for admission registrations.


Dozed off abit while waiting for doc to come to our ward for diagnosis.
She was really tired as she went thru the night in pain.

After the Procedure was done, cuddling with daddyhan.

Fell into a deep deep sleep. She was so exhuasted.


Already tons better by evening. She had her blood pressure monitor tab taped to her left thumb, but becoz she was hungry, she kept sucking on her thumb and it fell off. Nurse decided to tape it to her toe instead.

Had her 2nd milk feed for the day and is back to her usual self- fiddling with things she is not supposed to. =)

More on intussusception

Complications
If left untreated, intussusception can cause severe complications. Complications are directly related to the amount of time that passes from when the intussusception occurred until it's treated. Most infants who are treated within the first 24 hours recover completely from an intussusception with no problems. Further delay increases the risk of complication which include irreversible tissue damage, perforation of the bowel, infection, and death.

And so it was not gastric flu!
When I ended my post this morning, it wasnt mean to end that way. I wanted to go on and on abt the trip and how we'd monitor her gastric flu. But her situation doesnt seems any better as suggested by the doc and that was really worrying!
Dug Daddyhan from his deep sleep and made him drove us down to KK for a review.
At 1st I was still hoping that it could be that she couldnt poop, so had the doc to insert suppository. She pooped eventually, but her abdominal pain remains. Not only that, it seems to have intensified. Decided to admit her with advises from the doc, tho I was still secretly hoping we can still make it for the trip.
Anyway, it is the best choice I have ever made. She was later diagnosed with intussusception and had to have an air enema done immediately. I read up on it and realised the pain is excruciating for her condition. Im so glad we gave up on the trip to stay for hospital examinations instead. The procedue was a success and we gotta monitor for 24hrs to make sure there is no reccurence. Looks like we'll prob have to stay for another 1-2 days.
She is back to her chatty shelf, albeit a v grouchy one. At least she is showing some smiles now! I am so so so happy n relieved. However, its pretty hard to lay her down to sleep and she insisted to be carried. I guess she must be badly trumatised by the things done to her today.
So happy to see her sleeping so soundly in her ugly metal cot now.
Im so sleepy, but daddyhan is sleeping on my bed.. looks like I'll have to sleep here by the laptop. :(

Gastric flu?

Daddyhan noticed she curls up(in squat position) every now and then when we carry her and suspect she could be suffering from stomach discomfort.
I honestly thot she juz felt irritated and didnt wanna be carried.
She puked 3 times in the day, each time after her milk feed. Well, if you put one n one together, it does seems like grastic flu isnt it?
We decided to bring her to KK hospital.
It wasnt a long wait and the staff there was actually pretty nice. Not all, but most of them anyway. While waiting for our turn to see the doc, she puked on me again. This time it was only water for she had refused milk earlier on.
The doc whom we saw today, tho very much younger than the one yesterday, is MUCH more knowledgeable. He explained what we needa know and he told us other than gastric flu, the Brufen for her high fever could be the cause for her stomach upset too.
Come to think of it, shes been acting up only after taking Brufen yesterday.

Was given something to make her tum tum better and so far, it seems to helped a little. She is still waking up every 15mins or so, crying. So far I have administered 3 doses of the med and Im not really sure if its making her a whole lot better.
Daddyhan and I have discussed on the option of not gg for the trip tmr. It seems like the best option now, coz we're worried that her condition might worsen. However, if we dun go, we will have to forfeit the entire amt paid for the cruise, which to me, is alot. I know my daughter's well being shld come above everything, but still, its a big sum.
I think we might go ahead with the trip, assured by the fact that there is a medical center on board. A cruise liner this big shld have adequate facilities to oversee most problems right? I certainly hope so. It sounds so selfish for us to do this, but we're really hoping that the situation might get better even with us onboard as the doc did mentioned that it will take a few days for the bugs to go away.
As Im typing this, she've already cried a few times. Looks like if it doesnt gets any better, we shld just forget abt the holiday.

Fever II

Her temp hit a high of 39.6 yesterday evening. She was restless, refusing food and only wants water. Decided not to wait any longer and we brought her to Mt. Alvernia A&E. Her weight dropped from 9.16kg to 8.8kg juz overnight! She did a blood test and was cfmed with a viral infection. Was given more meds and we went off and reached home at 2ish am.
She woke up this morning crying, asking for milk. Her temp went down and everything seems pretty good. However, she vomitted a few times. Prob the meds too strong for her lil tummy. Will switch back to the normal paracetamol later and monitor.

Fever

Poor baby's been running a fever since yesterday morning till now. Kept hovering around 38ish degree.
This is the 1st time that she is sick(if we exclude the vaccination fevers).
She have always been healthy, no flu, no cough. I was wondering if she will go thru her 1st year without ever falling sick, and now she is!
She is extremely fussy and cries so easily. She is refusing her food as well, wanting only water. Thank goodness she is still drinking water. Pd said it could be a viral fever, since she cannot determine what is causing it. We think its due to teething tho.
I feel so helpless seeing her like this.

We went cycling on Sunday!

It rained in the morning and after lunch, we were still comtemplating to go or not to. West side looks grey and cloudy too. Checked the weather online and forecast says its gonna be cloudy for the next 3 hrs with no rain in the east. So we took a gamble and headed off to ECP!
Weather was good in the east. Not much sun and its breezy! Rented 2 bikes and off we go! I was wobbly for a start coz its been a long while since I last cycled. I wasnt a stable cyclist to begin with! Did I mentioned I learnt how to cycle in recent years under 30mins flat? Hehehe. I was so proud of myself then, and cycled ECP from Fort rd all the way to Tanah merah and back!

Ning enjoyed herself tremendously too. Clapping her hands nonstop and playing with the bell often.




Stopping for a break coz it drizzled lightly.

Auntie Carol.

Auntie Carol finally realised that she cannot do w/o Uncle Ben, and is whisking ZQ off to join him in KL.
Sad.
Somehow when she mentioned that she will be gone on the 22nd, it juz hit me that it will be next week. Suddenly felt sad, that she is gg to be so far away. K, maybe not that far, but still, not in sg what. Tho we dun mit up often, knowing someone who went thru the ups and downs of pregancy with me is 'leaving' me, somehow makes me felt alittle melancholic.
Nevertheless, I still feel happy for her, coz she'll finally stop feeling miserable from being apart from Ben, and will be that cheerful mimiyan girl once again!
I bet my last dollar she is prob teary by the time she read this sentence. Heheheheheh.


update: Hahahhaha, Auntie Carol juz informed me that she did cry! Heeeheeeeheeee.

Suddenly she can do so many things and it really amazes us. She is like a sponge now, absorbing everything we say and teach. Jus the other night, she surprises us with a goodbye kiss followed by a loud 'HWA'. No idea who taught her that, but it had us in stitches. On sunday, while rushing her thru dinner, so that we can have ours(was at in laws place, and the whole family is waiting for us.), she rejected the food and shook her head!
Babies are soo soo cute.. to think I dislike childrens so much before I got preg.

Now she knows how to crawl to the edge of the bed, turn around, hit the reverse gear and wriggle her way down. She'll always have the littlest grin when she touches the floor, like some accomplishment done. Very cheeky.

Its been 8 days.....

...without breastmilk. I have finally stopped bfing.

Happy 10mth old!

Wow! Time flies indeed! Lil missyhan is 10mths old, and shes been out into this world longer than she was in my tummy!
10mth old her is getting very notti now. Shes got a mind of her own and knows how to demand her way. She'll objects when you try to take away what she is holding and if I do not distract her immediately, she'll start crying her lungs out.
Geez. At such a tender age, she already knows her rights.
I love you sweetie. Thank you for being my baby and for finally showering me with your wet sloppy kisses when I BEG you too.
I can now tell auntie Cherie that I am cuter than your elmo, and yes! Babies don't lie. Heeh.

Ning have been extremely active for the past week! She started cruising steadily and already knows how to climb up and wriggle down our bed herself now.
Now much to update abt, but Im working now!
Am doing a PT thingy that requires me to read alot and clean up alot and get complained alot. Best part abt this deal is I get to work from home!
Hehe.

Buffet Lunch

Daddyhan suggested this hotel cafe coz we had dinner there before and the food is pretty good. Since they have a small pte room, we decided to check out the lunch menu and talk to the manager.
So, we went food tasting today!
This could be the choice venue for her party it seems. Daddyhan is pretty impressed with their food, compared to what we had at carlton hotel where she did her 1st mth.

Not cooperative as usual for the shoot today. Its so difficult to make her sit down in the pots, whereas the other babies were all happily settling down and cosying up in their pots. End up, we have to let her play both our hps to distract her, and constantly stuffing her mouth with gerber stars.

3rd lesson of Trio

It was chinese yesterday and she was pretty alright in class. Towards the end of the class when I put her down the floor, so its easier for me to jot down her homework, she started clambering all over Jerry.





Teacher came over and made the remark of "Wah, girl wans, boy dowan?"
Gosh...

Gave ning durians last night and she hates it. Looks like mummy's genes is really stronger than daddy's!

Photoshoot!

We had our photoshoot today and it was fun fun fun!
Ning wasnt too cooperative , coz she is such a mummy's girl and kept wanting to be carried! But things did turned out pretty well eventually and I think we got quite a handful of good shots! Cant wait to see the results soon. Will have to go back on Saturday for a grp shot with 8 other babies. Photog wanna try for a 8 babies in flower pots pose. Cant wait.
She was so tired from the shoot that as soon as she reached the car, she slept!


Know why her mouth was open? She was yawning and even before she can complete that yawn, she dozed off!!
Went to parkway parade and had Aglio Olio at Pastamania again. They dun taste as good as the one at United Sq and it really pales in comparison! Have to add quite a fair bit of salt myself somemore! Nonetheless, still tabao 3 packs home and had one for supper. The rest are for my lunches for the next 2 days!

Last min preps for the shoot

Went to Centerpoint and United sq to source for accessories earlier on and came home pretty empty-handed..cept for a big shopping bag from Mango. Yes yes, I went shopping again. Couldnt help it la. I thot I'll do a quick one, but end up stucked inside for more than an hour. =p
Met daddyhan at United sq and had wanted to dine at Bakerzin, but they were closed for reno! How lucky am I! I really wanna eat some Aglio Olio again! Was so disappointed and walked around. Even Soup resturant is closed for reno! So we walked along n saw Pastamania! Great! Went in and ordered my Aglio Olio and they tasted really good! Yumz!
Fed ning her spinach butternut and cod porridge and she, as usual, refused to behaved and eat. Look here look there, eating only after much cajoling. Damn, she is entering that stage now. Sigh!

Late dinner with the bub

I was angry with daddyhan yesterday, and by the time I forgave him, it was too late to get dinner. It didnt help that I've got this strong craving for Aglio Olio, so daddyhan decided to bring me out for dinner at 11-ish!


So sound asleep on my bed already!

Desserts of coz! Vanilla ice cream from the choco cake! Shldnt be feeding ice cream to her at this time, but daddyhan says angmo babies still having dinner at this time with their parents! Its okie!


Knocked out in the car on the way home. Reached home at around 2am plus!
So fun! I shld get angry more often to get such late night pampering dinner treats!

She is forever looking out for them. Everytime I see one walk past, I will say 'Look, catcat!', and she will stop whatever she is doing and look around for one.
Im glad she loves them as much as I do.

Gathering at TCC with some old frds..

We used to meet up every wed and friday without fail for a night out of drinking and fun. We were young and wild and we always have so much fun. We drank as much as we could and we danced on table tops. We were such regulars that we could waltz in and out of the club without joining the Q nor pay for the cover charge. Many a times, we'll get home really sloshed and wake up with a really bad hangover for work.
Those were the days.
Fastfoward 10 years, those days are long gone. We have grown up and no longer keeps such late nights. No more wild partying, just simple genuine chats and laughters over dinner and coffee. We even have our own kids now. Time really whizzes passed in a blink of an eye.
Im still glad we kept in touch, tho not often. Im still glad we did. Would have been better if a couple more of frds from the grp makes more effort in such gatherings.

Ning was such a babe that night. It was her 1st time meeting them and she was well behaved. After dinner, we parted our ways with the grp at around 9ish. Our family of 3 walked around Shaw and shared a gelato before heading home. It was such an enjoyable night that we didnt felt like leaving orchard early! Too bad everywhere was closing.


The lady in pink, G, was the one that brought daddyhan and me together. I almost named ning after her, but later decides against it, as I'd still very much prefer her name to start with A.

ps: Ning and I were wearing the same hair clip! =p

2nd lesson at Trio.

I guess it didnt go too well.
It was Japanese for this week, and the sensei was shooting off her japanese at a speed faster than their bullet train. Prob the language is foreign to her, so she started standing on the chair, dance a little and whined and tried clambering all over me.
Good thing she didnt cry, but she wasnt cooperative either. She refused to do alot of things the sensei asked and I wished she didnt tried to eat all the learning materials that was provided for the lesson.
Oh well, she's still a baby. What can I expect?

9 Mths old!

9 mth old on the 1st of July and I was not with her. Was away on a holiday with a frd and she was cared for by daddyhan. I have never been away from her before, and it was really torturous. I did have my share of fun, but whenever daddyhan calls and I hear her babbling in the background, my nose will stings and my eyes will tear.
I couldnt take any picture of her for this post, but thank god daddyhan did! Albeit a little blur(HTC sucks), it managed to capture that expression of hers so well! Still have to say that I miss her so so much during the trip, tho I already did in the previous post, but, I guess, only mummies will know how that feels.



Recieved this from daddyhan when I was still in HK, and daddyhan was like.. so proud of her.... coz she took off her pants herself.
Daddy, daddy, fastforward 18 years later and you'll be hoping she keep her pants in place. Hmm.. is this a milestone??? Milestone: take off own pants.
Hehehe.

1st lesson at Trio

I am finally back from HK and boy! I miss her so much!!! It was a fun trip but my mind was always with her. Good thing daddyhan sent me mms every now and then to keep my sanity in check. I cannot say how glad I am to be back.
The duo picked me up at the airport and lil missy han couldnt recognise me! I was a little upset but blamed it on the fact that she was tired and sleepy as it was already midnite. Some greedy pig came to the airpot to gave me a present and planted a kiss on my princess and got away with it coz I wasnt looking! *shake fists at PIG*
Grrr!

Anyway, my lovely lovely baby started her 1st lesson yesterday and she was so attentive! Hope she keeps it up so my money wun go down the drain. One hour passes by so fast and before I know it, its time to go! Teacher peiqin flashes the card really really fast and I wonder if she really understand whats going on?
After class, she slept almost immediately in my carrier. Must be really tired from being so attentive. Hahah.
